At the junction of daily shouts of happiness, where dreams were cooked,
A somber story of loss,
A mournful cry filled the air,
Of this tragedy unfolded.
To the streets they went,
For school fees, food, and their daily needs.
Mothers, fathers, families in tension,
Bearing burdens and battling for survival.
In this fateful evening, children waited for parents’ loving smile,
But fate’s cruel hand never thought of this,
Silencing their hopes in one blow.
At the doorstep, they eagerly waited,
A knock,
But the knock was never heard,
The story had already changed at the Londiani junction,
Leaving hearts shattered.
If only the driver had known,
If only the driver knew the children,
If only the driver knew the mothers,
If only the driver knew the fathers,
Waiting for them,
He would have veered the monstrous lorry away,
From their path,
To spare their unendurable pain.
In this harsh economic storm they braved,
Their loved ones’ lives they tirelessly saved,
Now they’re gone, like stars in the night,
Leaving emptiness, a void so tight.
